September 2021 – Knight of the Month – Sean McCormack

Name: Sean McCormack

Born and Raised in: Born and raised in Poway

Children: My daughter Gianna is 12 years old and in 7th grade.

Occupation:  I am a San Diego State University Graduate and have been employed in the medical equipment and supplies industry for over 10 years, currently with Lincare, an Oxygen and Respiratory Provider.

Why I joined the Knights:  I joined the Knights of Columbus on October of 2009, at the advice of my Dad.  My Dad told me that my life insurance policy that they purchased for me when I was born was going to expire.  My Dad said to join the Knights and enroll in their Life Insurance policy.  I did not know what I was getting into but I kept showing up.  The Buddy Bishop Council supported Pancake Breakfast Fundraisers for “The Way Back”, a recovery home for men, and as a result it opened my eyes to the generous works of Charity, Fraternity, and Unity among the Council Knights.  I have served in Knights of Columbus officer positions Inside Guard, Outside Guard, Warden, and now Lecturer.

What is one thing my friends probably don’t know about me?  I enjoy sharing my time, talent, and treasure, with a few non-profit organizations, Wheelchair Dance Organization and Spinal Network.  Both organizations empower those affected by Spinal Cord Injuries/Diagnosis and Neurological Conditions affecting mobility.

How long have I been a Parishioner of St. Gabriel?  Parents Kevin and Linda joined Saint Gabriel’s in 1990.
