  • The financial secretary is appointed by the Supreme Knight, upon recommendation of the Council.

Responsibilities include maintaining all financial and membership records. He collects and receives moneys from all sources, including council members annual dues. He manages disbursements and supply orders, and provides appropriate reports and records to the national Supreme Council.

Background

Bob Rast has been a parishioner since 1991 and has served as lector and Eucharistic Minister. In 2007, he founded what is now the Helping Hands ministry. He has been a Knight since 2009. Bob is a retired technical business development executive. An electrical engineer, he holds 13 patents. An intrapreneur, he worked in the fields of consumer electronics, cable TV, broadcast TV, and digital cinema. He came to San Diego in 1990 to join General Instrument, the company that first developed digital television. During the 90’s, he was a leader in the effort to standardize digital HDTV in the U.S. The saga of digital HDTV was documented in Defining Vision, a book by Pulitzer Prize-winning NY Times reporter Joel Brinkley.
