Background

I took to the Knights quite naturally, as I have always felt the call to service. I left College to enlist in the Navy Nuclear Power program and attended Boot Camp here in San Diego. While I was attending Nuclear Power School, I attempted qualification for the Naval Academy and got a Secretary of the Navy appointment. My graduating class was the last one personally interviewed by Admiral Rickover, and I specialized in Fast Attack Submarines. I took an operational break and got my MS Degree in Physics at Naval Postgraduate School. I deployed on 3 different submarine tours, had the opportunity to visit Hong Kong harbor and surfaced at the North Pole! I left the Navy as a Lieutenant with no job prospects (not much call for submarine drivers on land, or Physics majors), so I put myself through a networking course and started a new career, working my way up the computer data security ladder. I am currently an Information Security Architect for Blue Shield of CA. When my wife and I were looking for a church – we found St. Gabriel and knew we were home. When I heard about the Knights and what they do, the call to service was clear and I joined and became actively involved.
